The good news: we are truly wired to empathize with others and to benefit from social interactions.The bad news: your brain mirrors others’ brains; you can get PTSD brain changes when you relate to somebody else with PTSD…or depression, or anxiety, or stress. Longterm negative brain impacts (altered stress-response and altered neural networks) are predicted, and reversibility is apparently only possible for females (who socialize), but not so for males.
